· The Silk Road trip will depart on October 17 and return on November 3. Price: $4,290. The side trip will depart on October 14. Price: $1000.
· A $100 deposit will be required upon registration for the 2018 trip.
· The first payment for the trip will be due when we purchase air travel tickets and lodging. We will notify you in advance and in no case later than 45 days before departure.
· Group size will be limited to between 8 to 12 people.
· Trip costs are based on estimated 2017 expenses for a group of at least 8 people, including airfares, airline surcharges, land charges and exchange rates in effect on the date of the trip. We reserve the right to increase the price of the trip due to unexpected increases in any of these estimated costs or in the event of a devaluation in US currency. Participants have the right to withdraw if any increase is announced and their deposits will be returned. We further reserve the right to cancel the trip if there are less than 6 participants.
· For written cancellations, all deposits and payments will be forfeited per person if airline tickets and lodging have already been purchased. Otherwise, full repayment of all deposits and payments per person will be made.
· The trip price includes air transportation to and from China and within China; all hotel accommodations; all meals; private motor coaches; English-speaking guides; all transfers between airports and hotels; health insurance in China; baggage handling; entrance fees; service charges and taxes at hotels. (Tips will be collected separately)
· You will need to obtain a Chinese tourist L visa. We suggest that you use the services of a company such as American Vacation Travel Agency Inc . at 257 Castro St., Suite 204, Mountain View, CA 94041-1207. It charges a fee $50 for the service. You can reach A.V.T.A at (650) 961-7777 or Stone (408) 802-4316(cell). They would provide you with an application form which you return to them with your passport; the form with a 2x2 headshot of yourself stapled to it; and a visa application fee of $140 (Add $50 for the E&G service). Your passport must have six months or more remaining before expiration. Processing time is about four days, and your visa and passport will be returned.
· We suggest that you also consider purchasing travel insurance covering trip interruption, cancellation and baggage loss. One such insurance firm is WorldNomads.com, and another one is www.allianztravelinsurance.com.
